Have you even looked at the Princeton study? Most people, especially leftists, hear "congress consistently passed laws which the wealthy favored even when the majority of voters expressed opposition to those laws" and think issues like minimum wage, wealth redistribution, or even copyright, even though the distribution of positions among the wealthy and voters in general on those issues aren't all that different. They don't think of issues like illegal immigration, the death penalty, or gay marriage where there really are differences in the positions of the wealthy and the average voter.
