So in your opinion, Iran pursuing a nuclear bomb is not a serious threat to Israel? Or is it that you believe Iran is not pursuing one?

Also FYI in spite of the otherwise bitter political rivalry, practically all Israeli political parties rally against the latest deal with Iran. It's not just Netanyahu's rhetorics - people in Israel (and beyond) are genuinely worried about the threat that nuclear Iran will pose.

I don't consider the scenario that an Irani nuclear bomb explodes inside Israel to be likely even if Iran develops nuclear weapons.

The sanction itself didn't stop the nuclear program but rather increased the chances of Iran having the bomb as Bueno lays out. If the thing you care is Iran not getting the bomb the deal is ideal. If you care about having a weak Iran that doesn't meddle in the affairs of it's neighbors on the other hand the deal is bad.

I also think that giving agency to the concept of a country is highly misleading. Polititians serve their own self interest and that might align with the interests of their country and not align with it. Various forms of corruptions make politicians do things that are not in the interest of their country and Iran is certainly no country without corrupt politicians.

The fact that people like you pretend that Irani politicans aren't corrupt in a way that influences their decisions also helps them keep their political power. If Westerners don't think Irani politicians are corrupt it's harder for a Irani opposition politician to convince Iranian of that fact.

Yes, because it's a vote-winner. Doing otherwise would be unpopular with the Israeli electorate. As a result the politicians are more aggressive towards Iran then the Mossad leadership considers wise, partly because it's strengthening Irani hardliners who can use Western action as an excuse for their failures.

Just like people were genuinely worried about Iraqi ABC weapons. It's easy to make people worried.
