Our minds are not a binary - either totally objective or completely biased. Virtually all humans are somewhere between these two extremes.
That's a one-dimensional model. It's not useful for modelling my thought process.
The “enemy” might be indeed too strong a word. But feeling closer to one political side than to the other is generally enough to produce emotional bias.
You think too much in terms of "political sides".
US political thought might be by default devided into two sides. German political discourse has many political parties.

If you want to understand where I might be biased you will make bad predictions when you use a mental model based on US political thought. You would need to understand norms of German political discourse to take a guess at my cultural biases.
