You are missing the point of the article it is not about whether the particular policy of the current administration is generally good or bad.

In one of your recent posts you suggested that the ideal of democracy should be holding politicians accountable. Here is a real life example the U.S. president promised voters to cut unemployment in half. How do we decide whether he fulfilled this promise?

When holding people accountable it's worthwhile to focus on variables that they can control than one variables over which they don't have direct control.

I think it makes sense to prefer to elect a president who doesn't make promises about things that he can't control like halving the unemployment rate but as far as misdeads by politicians go making such a promise is relatively mild.

PolitFact doesn't think that Obama made such an promise. As such I don't see the problem.
